Fans Irritated With Caitlin Clark’s Bad Habit After Two WNBA Games

Caitlin Clark, the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, has now played in her first two official WNBA games: one on the road against the Connecticut Sun and one at home against the New York Liberty.

The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar scored 20 points on 5-of-15 shooting in her regular-season debut Tuesday despite a slow start. She also recorded 10 turnovers, something she will need to watch going forward.

But the turnovers are not the biggest cause of concern for some fans. They are more irritated with the number of personal fouls she’s committing. Clark has been forced to the bench with foul trouble in both games, and fans are upset that Clark’s minutes are being restricted as a result.

Fans come to the games to see Clark play, not to watch her sit on the bench.

Some WNBA fans have taken to social media to voice their complaints about Clark’s bad habit.

“Caitlin Clark has more Assists, Boards and FOULS (not combined) than she does Points. Insane”

“DEEP in the 3rd, Clark has more fouls than points. We may be the Liberty, but Caitlin Clark ain’t been free all game”

“Caitlin Clark has two early fouls and finishes the first quarter scoreless.”

“Turns out Caitlin Clark has yet another thing in common with Steph: committing monumentally silly and ill-timed fouls.”

“Caitlin Clark has 4 fouls early in the third.”

“It’s Caitlin Clark’s home debut. Three minutes left in the third quarter and she has twice as many fouls as points. Could the wnba squander their best chance any quicker?”

The foul limit in the WNBA is six, the same as the NBA. Clark picked up four fouls in the season opener, including two quick first-quarter fouls. She did the same thing in her home debut Thursday. She needs to get this figured out.
