The Indiana Fever just suffered their fifth consecutive loss to start the 2024 WNBA season.

This most recent one came in devastating fashion, during an away game against the Seattle Storm.

The final score was 85-83, and the Fever had multiple opportunities to tie the game up or even secure a last-second victory.

But the Fever looked hapless during their out of bounds plays, and couldn’t secure a clean look — which cost them another close victory.

The best player on the court by far was Seattle Storm guard Jewell Loyd.

Loyd finished the game with 32 points, and drained a clutch free throws down the stretch.

After the win, Loyd was interviewed by a sideline reporter. The reported noted that this was the largest home crowd for a Seattle Storm game in the team’s history.

Then the reporter asked Loyd what she thought about all the hype that Caitlin Clark brought to the game.

“It’s never about them,” Loyd responded, referring to Clark. “It’s about us.”

Clearly Loyd was not eager to give Caitlin Clark credit for all the Storm fans in attendance.
