Natisha Hiedeman and Kelsey Plum get into it during the third quarter of Lynx vs Aces
Tensions rose during the third quarter of Tuesday’s Minnesota Lynx vs Las Vegas Aces game when Natisha Hiedeman blocked Kelsey Plum’s layup attempt. With two minutes remaining in the quarter, Kelsey Plum drove to the basket but was blocked by Hiedeman, who then stared Plum down, leading to an exchange of words.

The Las Vegas Aces have been struggling recently, losing three of their last four games. Their 100-86 loss to the Minnesota Lynx added to their woes.
Kelsey Plum scored 13 points on 13 shots, making 3-of-11 from beyond the arc, and contributed four assists and two rebounds.
For the Lynx, A’ja Wilson had a standout performance with 28 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Despite her efforts, the defending champions dropped to a 5-5 record.
Megan Gustafson and Tiggany Hayes were the only other Aces players to score in double digits, with 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Lynx displayed a balanced offense, with all of their starters reaching double-digit points. Alanna Smith led the team with 18 points, followed by Kayla McBride with 16 points and eight assists.
Courtney Williams contributed 15 points and nine assists, Bridget Carleton added 15 points and five rebounds and Napheesa Collier had 14 points, six rebounds and six assists. Natasha Hiedeman scored seven points.
Minnesota capitalized on turnovers, scoring 21 points off 13 Aces turnovers and leading by as much as 20 points. The victory improved their record to 9-3, placing them at the top of the Western Conference.

Four Las Vegas Aces players have been chosen to represent the United States in the women’s basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, A’ja Wilson and Jackie Young will join forces with other talented WNBA players to chase an eighth consecutive gold medal for Team USA.
Kelsey Plum, another guard for the Aces, has been a dominant scorer, averaging 19.3 points and shooting nearly 35% from beyond the arc.
A’ja Wilson, a formidable presence in the frontcourt, has been integral to the Aces’ success, averaging 28.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.0 blocks per game. Wilson boasts impressive shooting percentages of 50.8% from the field and 41.7% from the 3-point line.
Jackie Young, a guard-forward, has also been a crucial contributor, averaging 18.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game.
These four Aces players will join other standout WNBA athletes, including Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Brittney Griner, Sabrina Ionescu, Jewell Loyd, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi and Alyssa Thomas, as they strive for Olympic gold.
