Angel Reese Getting Roasted Online After Caitlin Clark, WNBA Record

The debate over the most influential rookies in the WNBA has been raging on social media for the past two months. Caitlin Clark entered the league as the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever, while the Chicago Sky took Angel Reese seventh in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Clark leads all rookies averaging 16.1 points and 6.2 assists, while Reese leads all first-year players with her 10.2 rebounds per game average. Reese also is averaging 12.1 points per game, making the Chicago forward the only rookie averaging a double-double.

This season, the Fever games featuring Clark have been a hot ticket; no other WNBA team is attracting as much attention. The data speaks for itself, showing the excitement and interest she has generated, not just with the league but with women’s basketball in general.

Six networks have set records for their most-watched WNBA games all time this season, and every one of those games featured Clark and the Fever, as reported by Front Office Sports on X.

Following the release of this information, Reese was roasted online. She’s talked about her influence on basketball as being at the same level as Clark’s, explaining that “There’s not just one player.” But, from the numbers, there’s no one like Clark.

ESPN posted 2.1 million viewers in its latest WNBA telecast, while CBS drew 2.25 million fans. ABC also hit a significant mark, bringing in 1.7 million viewers in the Fever’s matchup against the New York Liberty. WNBA fans made a meme with Clark as the captain and Reese as the guest star. Per Heavens on X, fans reacted to the hilarious jab at Reese, falling into hysterical laughter.
