UConn's Aaliyah Edwards honored in Kingston, Ont. for WNBA debut

A video from Kingston radio station “MOVE 98.3” featured Edwards’ family, coaches and players from her youth basketball program. It also featured a clip from the station’s “Reid and Ben in the Morning” show calling Edwards “already the best player in the WNBA, according to us.”

Washington made Edwards the sixth overall pick in the WNBA draft last month. The Mystics’ second game is May 17 at Mohegan Sun Arena against the Connecticut Sun.

Edwards graduated from UConn on Sunday alongside teammates Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, with fellow WNBA rookie Nika Mühl in Seattle with the Storm.
