The chatter surrounding the Chennedy Carter-Caitlin Clark beef may finally be simmering after an eventful past couple of days, but Carter is certainly someone that people will be looking out for now.

She and rookie sensation Angel Reese have been at the center of a ton of blowback from fans, analysts, and even athletes following Saturday’s game against Clark’s fever.

Carter went insanely viral for a hip-check that launched Clark onto the ground as she awaited an inbounds pass, while Reese went viral for leaping off the bench to applaud Carter.

Both parties have likely moved on by now with the Fever not playing until Friday, and the Sky currently taking on the New York Liberty.

As the Sky looked to take the lead late in the third quarter, Carter went up for a layup that rolled out. What happened next made both announcers and fans wince.

Reese, who is an offensive rebound machine leading the WNBA with five per game, went up to grab the board and accidentally trampled Carter who fell to the ground. It appears that Reese even inadvertently stepped on Carter’s head.

Carter appeared to be okay following the play, and was able to stay in the game finishing with 16 points on 7-of-18 shooting. Reese on the other hand had a double-double scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Her night did however end early after she was ejected late in the fourth.

The Liberty went on to win 88-75, advancing to 8-2 on the year while the Sky fell to 3-5.
