The Chicago Sky’s dynamic duo is ready to take on the WNBA.

Young guns of Chicago: Reese and Cardoso's breakout game

The Chicago Sky might just be cooking up the best young duo in the WNBA. Though it’s still early days, Angel Reeseand Kamilla Cardoso are showing serious potential to become one of the most formidable frontcourts in the league.

Cardoso, after being sidelined with a shoulder injury at the start of the season, has only played four games so far. However, her performance is already on an upward trajectory. After scoring 11 points in her rookie debut against the Indiana Fever, she had a quiet couple of games with just three points combined. But Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Dream was a different story.

Cardoso came out swinging, dropping 13 points and snagging five rebounds. Her partner in crime, Reese, was equally impressive. Reese secured a double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and tied her career-high with five steals. This dynamic duo was unstoppable on the court.

Reese didn’t hold back her excitement when talking about their future. “She runs the floor really well. At 6’7, to be able to see a post-player run that we’ll… She catches passes, she makes baskets around the basket really fluently… Our duo is something that is going to be here for a while and here to stay and I’m excited for our growth,” Reese shared via Chicago Sky PR.

It’s evident that Cardoso and Reese are here to cause trouble for their opponents for years to come. Both were drafted in 2024, and watching their development as a pair will be a thrilling ride. The Chicago Sky’s future looks incredibly bright with these two rising stars leading the charge.
