WNBA fans flabbergasted with Caitlin Clark’s abysmal performance vs Liberty

Caitlin Clark made her home debut on Thursday night as the Indiana Fever hosted the New York Liberty for their home opener at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark struggled against last year’s WNBA Finals runners-up, and fans are flabbergasted by her performance.

Clark finished the game with nine points, seven rebounds and six assists on 2-for-8 shooting. She went 1-for-7 from beyond the arc and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line. She took care of the ball much better, with just three turnovers.

However, Clark was in foul trouble, as she ended the game with five fouls. She needs to make more adjustments as the season continues. It’s also worth noting that the Liberty are one of the best teams in the league. They are basically a superteam with Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones on the roster.

WNBA fans called out Caitlin Clark for her performances in her first two games. Clark had 20 points and 10 turnovers on her debut, while a triple-single with five fouls in her second game was not particularly impressive for some.

“CAITLIN WAKE TF UP!!!” a fan wrote.

“Is Caitlyn Clark the new Jimmer Fredette? one fan asked.

“Can’t even beat traffic cones. What a fake basketball player,” another fan commented.

Other WNBA fans are not worried about Caitlin Clark’s struggles. They believe that she will get the hang of it eventually, and it didn’t help that her first two career games were against the two best defenses in the league last season.

“Her first 2 games were first two top defenses. I know casuals don’t really care just adding context. The Liberty made the Finals last year and the Sun were 2 games away,” one fan remarked.

“Same thing happened to Wemby. She’ll find her groove soon,” a fan commented.

“She’ll be alright. Within 3 years she’s averaging 30,” another fan claimed.

Indiana Fever fans call for Christie Sides’ job for not knowing how to use Caitlin Clark

Some Indiana Fever fans are upset with coach Christie Sides for not knowing how to use Caitlin Clark. They argue that Sides should not be using Clark as a shooting guard because it negates her best traits on offense as a scorer and playmaker.

“I think it needs to be said: Christie Sides don’t know how to use CC properly in the offense. Give her the damn keys. Why are you making her a 2? Why are you putting her at the corner?” one fan commented.

“Christie Sides is going to ruin Caitlin’s GOAT trajectory,” another fan claimed.

“You have to think Christie Sides has an extremely short leash. That team is way too talented to look as incompetent as they have,” a fan remarked.
