The UConn Huskies women’s basketball team had three main superstars during their run to the Final Four in 2023-24.

Those players were Paige Bueckers, Nika Muhl, and Aaliyah Edwards.

Losing to Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes squad was the last time these three would be wearing the same jersey. After that, Edwards was drafted by the Washington Mystics in the 2024 NBA Draft, Muhl was taken by the Seattle Storm, and Bueckers returned to UConn for one more season.

Saturday marked the first time that Edwards and Muhl played against each other as WNBA opponents. Before the game, the two former Huskies shared an embrace.

And Bueckers was glad to see it.

“So proud… My sisters,” Bueckers wrote on X, in reply to a photo of Edwards and Muhl.

Muhl’s Storm ended up dominating Edwards’ Mystics in the game, 101-69.

Neither former Husky made a major impact, as Muhl scored 0 points in 4 minutes, and Edwards scored 4 points in 28 minutes.

But Bueckers was just glad to see them competing against each other.
