On Wednesday, LeBron James appeared on his Mind the Game podcast alongside former NBA player JJ Redick.

The pair discussed various NBA topics before discussing the Indiana Fever rookie Clark.

Despite averaging 17 points per game, the NCAA all-time leading scorer Clark has received plenty of criticism due to the Fever’s winless start.

Similarly, like Clark, James entered the world of professional basketball with high expectations and has advice for the 22-year-old.

“I think for my advice to Caitlin, and my advice to anyone coming in with this level of notoriety, ‘out of this world’ expectation — be a horse,” James said.

“Put your blinders on … Go to work. Show up to work.

“Punch [your] clock in. Prepare yourself. Work on your game, work on your craft.”

LeBron, who was also selected with the No. 1 pick in a respective draft, dealt with a similar situation and start with his team in his first season.

His Cleveland Cavaliers started 0-5 in 2003, the Akron, Ohio native’s rookie campaign.

James also praised Clark and her status which has helped the WNBA become a more popular league.

“Don’t get it twisted! Don’t get it f***ed up,” James said.

“Caitlin Clark is the reason why a lot of great things is gonna happen for the WNBA.”

“I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before. I’ve walked that road before. I hope she kills!”

It wasn’t easy in the future four-time NBA champion James’ rookie season as the Cavaliers were 4-17 in early December and missed the playoffs.

Clark and the Fever will have numerous chances to end their losing streak against the Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces this week.

“It’s still a team game, people,” James continued on his podcast.

“People need to realize, the Indiana Fever — this is the second year in a row they had the No. 1 pick.

“Do y’all know what that means?

“That means they’re not that good.”

“I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before. I’ve walked that road before.

“I hope Aliyah Boston does amazing. I hope they do great.”
