Chicago Sky Coach Scolds Reporter For Questioning Whether Angel Reese Could Make Olympic Team

Chicago Sky’s first-year head coach Teresa Weatherspoon has been one of the best stories of the WNBA season so far.

While the Sky are 4-6 on the season, anybody who has seen the Chicago practice and play can tell that Weatherspoon is creating a hard-nosed yet tightly-knit culture within the team.

And Weatherspoon’s belief in her two rookies, Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, is yet another example of this.

Weatherspoon’s belief was put to the test on Tuesday, when she was asked by a reporter whether a trip to the Olympics could be in Angel Reese’s future.

“Come on now,” Weatherspoon responded. “I know you’re not asking me that question. Does she have what it takes? She’s showing it.”

Weatherspoon then said, “She’s showing it,” four more times before saying, “You’re doggone right [Reese] has what it takes.

“Kamilla has what it takes as well to compete for her country. Everybody on this team has what it freaking takes. We all do.”

Then Weatherspoon stormed off, and the interview ended.

Perhaps it’s for the best if nobody questions Weatherspoon’s belief in her team.
