Colin Kaepernick has been out of the NFL since the 2016 national anthem debacle. He has since been in many controversies surrounding the league and has made numerous attempts at rejoining the league, with the most recent being in try coming in 2023.

However, the former 49ers signal-caller is not the only NFL Star involved in controversies. Recently, Kansas City Chiefs punter Harrison Butker was embroiled in some controversies after making some misogynistic comments during a college commencement speech in Kansas City.

Kaepernick obviously has his eyes set on the league that seems to have caused him so much trouble. He has now made his stance on the whole Butker situation noted, claiming that there is some “hypocrisy” involved.

The former NFL quarterback reposted an Instagram story posted initially by his girlfriend, Nessa Diab. In it, Diab reposts the many comparisons made between the NFL’s stances on Kaepernick’s actions in 2016 to Butker’s opinions during the aforementioned speech.

Colin Kaepernick Adds To His Beef With The NFL

It should be noted that Goodell has not given Butker any consequences for his statement. There is not much that the league can do based on how and where he made the comments. They weren’t against the NFL, so the league isn’t taking any disciplinary actions.

On the other hand, the league was able to take action against Kaepernick because his act took place before games. The league deemed the actions inappropriate, so the signal caller was essentially blackballed by the NFL.

It seems as though Colin Kaepernick could possibly make a return after last year’s attempt. However, it doesn’t seem likely that the former star quarterback will end up on an NFL squad anytime soon. It doesn’t seem like he would want to play in a league that caused him so much trouble.
