Happy Birthday wishes are in order for the eldest child of Brittany and Patrick Mahomes. Sterling Skye Mahomes has officially turned three-years-old!

Sterling officially turned three on February 20; however, her party was held a few days earlier at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden in Dallas, TX. Donning a pink dress with a red flower print, Sterling had the time of her life as seen in a video shared by her parents.

The 28-year-old mother-of-two captioned the video clip, “We celebrated our Sterling Skye today! I can’t even believe we will have a 3 year old in just a few days! Time flies when you’re having fun! We love you baby girl.”

In addition to Sterling, Brittany and the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback also share one-year-old son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III.

In an interview with Parents.com, Brittany opened up about how both of her children suffer from food allergies and she has become an advocate for children and parents who are all on the same journey as she and her family.

“As parents with kids with food allergies, you have to be confident in advocating for your kids and you have to keep them safe; you have to make sure everything around them is safe,” she told Parents.com. “Never feel bad for speaking out for your kiddos.”

Knowing the importance of being properly prepared in an allergy emergency, Brittany has teamed up with AUVI-q, an FDA-approved epinephrine auto-injector, to help “educate and empower parents”. The Kansas City Current co-owner knows too well just how important it is to know what to do in an allergy emergency as she was faced with one with her own child.

“We were doing an early introduction,” she recalled while speaking to Parents.com. “We started with milk, and then went to eggs.” However, when they added peanut powder to Bronze’s formula, he had an allergic reaction. “I took his diaper off and I then realized he had broken out into hives everywhere under his diaper and his clothes. Within minutes, it began to grow and grow, and eventually covered his whole body and got up to his face.”

“Knowing that I did have that with me, [the AUVI-q epinephrine auto-injector for infants and toddlers], I felt a little more competent in the situation, but we did end up going to the emergency room. They ultimately told us, ‘He’s going to be fine, but you need to wait here for a few hours just to make sure everything’s OK.’”
