Former SportsNet LA reporter Alanna Rizzo is again going to cover the Los Angeles Dodgers and take on a new role with “Foul Territory,” a digital baseball show that has quickly grown since launching in March 2023.
Rizzo, a seven-time Emmy winner, joins to co-host “Fair Territory” with Ken Rosenthal every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. PT to expand the show from previously streaming live once a week on Mondays.
She then will get to focus on her former team as the host of “Dodgers Territory” along with Clint Pasillas at 12 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Their first show is scheduled for Monday. Rizzo also is expected to make appearances on “Foul Territory,” which airs daily.
Rizzo is going to remain in her role as a regular contributor to MLB Network’s “High Heat” alongside host Chris Russo. “High Heat” is scheduled to resume airing on Monday.
Rizzo held the role of Dodgers reporter for SportsNet LA from 2014-2021.
During her time with the team she traveled for all road games, was on location for the annual Winter Meetings, assisted with SportsNet LA studio coverage and also provided a “Rizzo Report” for AM 570 L.A. Sports Radio.
The seven-year stretch also included being part of the SportsNet LA launch and covering a World Series title run under unprecedented circumstances with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rizzo returned to Dodger Stadium for the first time during the 2021 season for an MLB Network broadcast, which gave her an opportunity to reprise the familiar role of in-game reporter.
“I miss the interaction with the players and fans,” Rizzo told DodgerBlue.com at the time.
“I miss the interaction with the players and fans. I loved my time in L.A.
There’s something to be said being with a team every day and going through that proverbial grind with them to the extent that you can as a broadcaster versus as a player.
“I do miss being in the know of everything that’s going on with them and being a part of the fabric of what creates a championship team.
And I miss the weather.
“L.A. is such a wonderful place to live. To think I almost didn’t take the Dodger job because I thought I didn’t want to live in L.A., and now it’s the best place I’ve ever lived.
The irony is not lost on me.”
Alanna Rizzo’s charity
“It took a year to kind of get over the step of being scared and daunted and overwhelmed, to finally launching it,” she told DodgerBlue.com of creating the foundation.
“It was challenging, but I think it was more daunting than anything.
To have it in your mind and on your heart, and then to actually make it happen, was really daunting and challenging.
But if I save one dog, it was worth all of it.”
