Caitlin Clark News: Fever Star Makes WNBA History in Just Three Games
It didn’t take very long for Caitlin Clark to make some history in the WNBA, only needing three games to do so. Clark became only the fourth player in WNBA history to put up at least 50 points and 15 assists over her first three career games.
She joins some legendary company in doing so, now sitting alongside Candace Parker, Sue Bird, and Nikki McCray in history.
In elite company 👏

McCray was a three-time All-Star with the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. Bird was a 13-time All-Star and four-time WNBA champion during her career with the Seattle Storm. And Parker was a seven-time All-Star, winning two MVP awards and three championships during her career between the Los Angeles Sparks, Chicago Sky, and Las Vegas Aces. So, it’s safe to say that Clark is on a great path to start her career.

While Clark has looked good on her own, the Indiana Fever have struggled as a team. They have yet to pick up a win but there were always going to be growing pains with this team. Indiana picked Clark No. 1 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, holding the first overall selection for the second straight year. There was a reason for that and even as good as Clark is, she can’t change things overnight for the team.

However, the Fever have to feel encouraged by her performances so far this season. She has gotten better each game and is getting more of a feel for the WNBA every time out on the floor. Indiana coach Christie Sides said that veteran Erica Wheeler has been trying to help Clark ease the transition to the league.
“[She’s] just trying to show her what this league is about and help her be as successful as she can be for us and for our team,” Sides said, according to the team’s official X account.

If Clark can keep up her strong performances, she will become the player that everyone envisioned she would be. It may take a minute for her to fully dominate the league but she is off to an excellent start in her professional journey.
