Las Vegas Aces veteran A’ja Wilson and rookie Kate Martin have created a tight bond in Sin City. The two recently shared a pregame exchange in their WNBA matchup against the Connecticut Sun that blew up on social media.

Wilson and Martin showed off their pregame ritual, where they high-fived and headbutted each other. The video, from A’ja A’VENGERS on X, has received over 3.1k likes and 47.7k views.

WNBA fans raved about the interaction and spoke about the chemistry being built in Las Vegas. Martin came into the scene as a second-round rookie and was welcomed with open arms by the defending champion Aces.

Wilson has exemplified the leadership that head coach Becky Hammon has been preaching for years. She’s currently the MVP frontrunner, posting phenomenal numbers of 27.8 points and 11.6 rebounds.

Martin has been able to ease into a role with the Aces, comforting Wilson and her teammates and showing them the ropes of the WNBA. She gets to share the court with some of the best players in the world, like Wilson, Jackie Young, and Kelsey Plum.

The rookie out of Iowa is currently averaging 4 points and 2.5 rebounds, recording two points in eight minutes against the Sun.
