While most Swifties would go out of their way just to get a glimpse of Taylor Swift IRL, Patrick Mahomes’ dad Pat said he hoped he didn’t have to sit with the pop superstar at the Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens game, which took place on January 28, according to US media.

When asked on the Evan & Tiki show whether he plans to sit with Travis Kelce’s loved ones, including T-Swift, at the game, Mahomes Sr replied, “I hope not.”

“No, I don’t think so. No, Travis normally has his own thing, and Patrick has his own deal, too,” he added, “But I imagine if Taylor wants her own suite, I think she’s got enough money to get the one she wants.”

However, it’s unlikely due to any bad blood between the two. According to People, Pat recalled the first time he met the “Cruel Summer” singer, saying he found her “very nice and genuine and everything”, as well as “very down to earth”.

“Someone that’s famous, you never know how that’s going to go,” he added.

He added that the multi-Grammy-winner even “took a couple of pictures with my wife and with my daughter”, referring to Patrick Mahomes’ half sister Zoe Mahomes.

Per People, the NFL star’s parents are hugely supportive of him and his career. “I knew when it came to sports, he was going to be able to reach whatever level he wanted,” mum Randi previously told Fox4.

The proud mum has an online platform, QBP, where she sells bags, hats and other branded items for “Game Day”, and has worked at Texas’ Hollytree Country Club as catering and events director since 2005, according to her LinkedIn.

Meanwhile, dad Pat was himself a sportsman, serving as an MLB pitcher from 1992 to 2003 for everyone from the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets to the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs and the Pittsburg Pirates, according to People.

Per People, Pat and Randi are from Texas and were married from the late 1990s until their divorce in 2006.

Randi’s website offers a personal insight into their co-parenting situation, albeit one written in the third person. “After high school, Randi met Patrick’s father and they quickly reconnected and started a family,” her bio says. “When they met, Randi had no idea that her future husband was a star athlete that played professional baseball.” It adds, “Married life with a professional baseball player is a hard life and took a toll on their relationship, which led to divorce. True to Randi’s optimistic spirit, the two are friendly to this day.”

Jackson, 23, is Randi and Pat’s youngest son, and is an internet influencer and TikTok personality.
