Patrick Mahomes Jokingly Asks NFL Network Not to Use His 40-Yard Dash overlay anymore during combine coverage

With the 2024 NFL Combine slated to kick off this week, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has one simple request.

Mahomes made a post Wednesday on X jokingly requesting for NFL Network to not use his 40-yard dash overlay anymore during combine coverage:

Mahomes ran a 4.80 40-yard dash during the 2017 combine as a prospect out of Texas Tech and video of his sprint is now frequently used as an overlay when quarterbacks take to the field for the event.

While Mahomes’ 40-yard dash time isn’t the slowest among quarterbacks to have ever participated in the event at the combine, it’s always used as an overlay as he’s now one of the top signal-callers in the NFL.

Mahomes is coming off his third Super Bowl title and is hoping to three-peat with the Chiefs next season.

As for the quarterbacks participating in this year’s combine, USC’s Caleb Williams, UNC’s Drake Maye and LSU’s Jayden Daniels will be the players to watch.
