Philadelphia Eagles’ Jason Kelce is ‘Present’ in Three Daughters’ Lives

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is devoted to his family.

“Jason is emotionally and mentally present for his girls, and I think that’s so important,” Kelce’s wife, Kylie, told PEOPLE.

He even put his family first while appearing at this year’s NFL Pro Bowl.

“I don’t even know what you do in the Pro Bowl anymore,” he told PHLY journalist Zach Berman. “But it’s down in Orlando so I get to take my kids to Walt Disney World. Not off-the-Super Bowl Walt Disney World, but as long as Wyatt gets to see Elsa, I don’t think it really matters.”

The couple shares daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 2, and Bennett, 11 months, and they hope their kids become athletes.

“I do hope they become athletes, probably selfishly, but also because there are so many things involved in sports that translate into real life,” Kylie shared with Glamour. “I tell my high school field hockey girls now that whether they go on to play in college, whether they play just for fun or whether they don’t pick up a stick after high school ever again, the tools that they’re learning, being on a team, working toward a common goal, and doing it together is something that will translate into the workplace. It will translate into life as a whole.”

However, she and Jason won’t force their kids into athletics if they aren’t interested.

“But that being said, my husband and I are both advocates for the arts and would enjoy it if they get involved in that as well. He was a competition jazz band member, so he was a well-rounded guy,” she continued. “Not a lot of people know that, but he played the baritone saxophone, so if they want to get into music, art, we will fully encourage that as well. We’ll try everything just to see what sticks.”

Despite the popularity from Jason’s NFL career, the couple does their best to remain genuine.

“The thing we try our best to maintain is a sense of authenticity,” Kylie said. “We don’t ever want to be people that we are not, mostly because our girls are watching. We want to make sure that we treat people kindly, that we continue to stay grounded, that we continue to act the way that we’ve always acted so that our girls understand that that’s how you should be conducting yourself.”

Movieguide® recently reported on the Kelces:
Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce discussed with PEOPLE how his family manages fame and the most important thing he wants his kids to know.

“We really try not to let it affect us, to be honest with you,” Jason told PEOPLE about the attention surrounding his family. “I think there are times where you’re out and about and whatnot, and it’s hard to just enjoy being at an event or out to dinner. But for the most part, everybody’s very nice and generous and either they are fans of the team or listening to the podcasts, or all of our family.”

“I love hearing people that appreciate whatever it is they appreciate about us,” he continued. “I don’t think we’re living any differently than we have been though. It’s just now there’s more articles and stuff, but we’re largely just doing the same thing.”
