“Queen Charlotte” stars Mylchreest as a youthful King George III, making him the newest love protagonist in the “Bridgerton” TV world.
Regé-Jean Page offered some advice for Corey Mylchreest, the main man of “Queen Charlotte”—a little of advice from an old friend.Mylchreest quotes the “Bridgerton” Season One star as saying, “Anything that doesn’t aid with the execution of a scene “doesn’t exist” at those times on set, which is his takeaway from the actor’s guidance.
Between action and cut, he assures you, there is nothing outside of this material that can assist you. Give in to it, but let go of all else.
Their personalities couldn’t be more different. They are very gorgeous as well. “And I’m fully cognizant of the fact that they are competing in different races from me,” he remarks.
Mylchreest claims he had no discussions with Page or Bailey over being the show’s official heartthrob, but he did indicate who he believes viewers would be drawn to—and it wasn’t himself.
He claims that Freddie Dennis, who portrays Reynolds, the king’s butler, would be the series’ true romantic interest. “The audience is going to adore him, and I can hardly wait.”
In “Queen Charlotte,” Mylchreest portrays a younger George III who, while falling in love with Charlotte (India Amarteifio), must contend with the increasing demands of nationalism, the frailty of love itself, and his own deteriorating mental health.
Page’s suggestion that Mylchreest focus on the most important things for a take probably helped. To play the character of England’s infamously “mad” queen in “Queen Charlotte,” Mylchreest had to insert himself into her world.
“I felt like I owed him a voice, so in order to do that, you have to commit truthfully to that,” he continues. “So you have to go to those places.”
Despite his initial concerns about his character-finding abilities, he eventually came to the realization that “what I should have really been worried about was getting back.” On occasion, he would leave the set when “not feeling so great” to immerse himself in the character’s anguish.
However, he managed to reconnect with his “own instrument” and “own soul” by making time for activities like as meditation, writing, reading, and talking to others he cared about.
Page revealed in April 2021 that he would not be returning for Season Two of “Bridgerton,” despite the fact that his depiction of the Duke of Hastings had hearts fluttering among fans, including TODAY’s Sheinelle Jones.
It’s only an arc for one season. Page told Variety that the project will have a beginning, middle, and finish and that they needed a year to complete it. I was thinking, “That’s cool,” because then it seemed like a one-off. I get to step in, do my part, and then the “Bridgerton” clan continues.
The actor’s potential return to the program was the subject of speculation last summer. “No, I’m not going back to the show btw—the papers made that one up.” He captioned a photo of himself and Jonathan Bailey, who starred as the romantic lead in Season Two of “Bridgerton,” putting an end to the rumors.
He has subsequently appeared in “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” but ever since he shared a photo of himself in a tuxedo, people have been begging him to play James Bond. His attractiveness has been backed by science.
