REPORT: Chiefs Get Massive Injury Update On Superstar Player Ahead Of Super Bowl 58

The Kansas City Chiefs could receive a huge boost ahead of Super Bowl 58 as they could get one of their defensive stars back for the big game.

Linebacker Willie Gay was reportedly in practice on Thursday after missing the AFC Championship Game with a neck injury. According to reporter Aaron Ladd, who provided a video of the player in training, Gay was a full participant.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the Divisional Round game against the Buffalo Bills and was forced to miss the matchup vs. the Baltimore Ravens. Having him back would be a major positive for Andy Reid and Kansas City given that he’s one of the best players in the defensive unit.

Gay made 16 appearances in 2023, registering 58 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and four passes defended.

While his return hasn’t been confirmed, things are certainly looking good.

The Chiefs will be suiting up against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11 in what will be a rematch of the 2020 Super Bowl, which they won. The contest promises to be a spicy one, with the Niners arguably the best team in the league in 2023 following Brock Purdy’s first full season as a starter.
