Caitlin Clark’s Boyfriend Offers Raw Perspective on Navigating Superstardom Together

Caitlin Clark is one of the biggest superstars in American sports right now.

Over the past few years, Clark’s legend has continued to grow. Now, the WNBA’s No. 1 overall pick is a household name.

This superstardom comes with a ton of perks — and a few downfalls.

In a recent teaser for Full Court Press — a four-part docuseries chronicling the lives of Clark, Kamilla Cardoso and Kiki Rice — Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, gave some sobering insight into her new life.

“This is not the same as what it was,” McCaffery said. “Me and you, we can not just go and walk around like nobody knows who you are. That’s not the reality of the situation. I think there’s still moments when she realizes that and she’s like ‘Damn, that kinda sucks.'”

“Hardest part about being Caitlin Clark? I would say having to feel like you’re always on,” Clark said. “… You just have bad days and there’s days when you don’t want to talk to anyone, but somebody comes up to you and this is their 10-second interaction with you so you better smile and be kind.

“At the same time, you just want to be normal sometimes.”

Clark’s superstardom continues to build as she approaches the start of her debut WNBA season. The former Iowa superstar will take the court for the Indiana Fever’s regular-season debut against the Connecticut Sun on May 14.
