Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes continues to wow fans at training camp with some unorthodox throws. He’s been practicing the behind-the-back pass for several years now and that always seems to get the fans going at practice. However, on Tuesday, Mahomes busted out the pass in an undertaking that was just extremely impressive.

As practice wrapped up, quarterbacks tend to do little throwing challenges with trash cans and the crossbar. From the 20-yard line (30 yards to the crossbar), Mahomes threw a behind-the-back pass and nailed the crossbar right in the center. It was just about as accurate as you’d expect him to be throwing normally.

That wasn’t the only pass he attempted, though. Mahomes also threw a left-handed pass from the 20-yard-line and reproduced the same results. He nailed the crossbar perfectly in the center and the crowd cheered for their quarterback.

An underrated storyline of training camp so far has been just how accurate Mahomes has been throwing normally. Apparently, it remains the case even with these wildly unorthodox throws. We’ll see if he can actually hit one of the behind-the-back throws in a regular season or preseason game, but we’ve already seen him do a couple of successful left-handed passes.
