Jason and Travis Kelce Applaud Taylor Swift’s Dedication to the Kansas City Chiefs, Playfully Welcoming Her as a “Rookie” in the Team
Karma is certainly favoring the Chiefs, and that includes Taylor Swift.
For Taylor Swift, recent months have introduced a new element into her life. Since she began dating Travis Kelce, the Grammy-winning artist has become a prominent presence at Kansas City football games, and her dedication has not gone unnoticed.
“Shout out to the newest member of Chiefs Kingdom, Taylor Swift,” Jason Kelce announced during the January 31 episode of their podcast, “New Heights,” with a playful twist, “who has officially reached the Super Bowl in her rookie year.”
This witty remark drew a chuckle from Travis Kelce, who added, “Yeah, shoutout to Tay, thanks for joining the team.”
Although Taylor Swift has not joined the NFL as a player, her newfound favorite team has secured a spot in this year’s Super Bowl. On February 11, the Chiefs will face off against the San Francisco 49ers after defeating the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship game on January 28.
Not only did the recent game propel the Chiefs into the Super Bowl, but it also provided fans with some endearing Taylor-Travis moments during the post-game celebration.
Alongside the sweet embraces and “I love yous” exchanged between the couple, there was another post-game moment that caught fans’ attention: Kansas City head coach Andy Reid, affectionately known as “Big Red,” seemed to acknowledge Taylor from the stage, pointing in her direction while she reciprocated the gesture in celebration.
Jason highlighted the moment, saying, “This was the great photo tweeted out of Big Red showing a little love to Taylor up on the stage; they’re pointing at each other.”
Travis humorously imagined the exchange as, “‘We’re going to the Super Bowl, baby. We’re going to the Bowl; we did it.’”
After noting that Andy and Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, are friends in real life, the 34-year-old reflected on the heartwarming moment.
“That was a cool moment to see afterward,” Travis remarked. “I didn’t get to see it because I was up on the stage, screaming, ‘Fight for your right.’ But yeah, that was a cool one.”
Keep reading for more moments from the AFC Championship celebration ahead of Kansas City’s (and Taylor’s) big game on February 11.
