Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese Get Honest Review From WNBA Icon

While Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and the rest of the 2024 WNBA Draft Class have received plenty of warnings from their peers about life in the pro league, at least one took a different approach and made sure they get their credit for elevating the game.

Atlanta Dream star and WNBA icon Tina Charles spoke with TMZ recently and shared her high praises for Clark, Reese and the new generation of female hoopers, noting that their impact has been amazing.

“The energy that we’re getting, the reception, the eyes that we’re getting on us, it’s amazing,” Charles shared.

“It’s just because of that new generation that’s coming in. They’ve just taken the baton from ’97 and just bringing us forward. Just very thankful for their skill, just how they’re handling themselves and the media. It’s just bringing us along.”

Plenty of WNBA players–such as Diana Taurasi–have gotten a fair share of backlash for seemingly being jealous of the new players rather than being appreciative of their contributions to further promote the league. With that being said, it’s certainly nice to see a legend like Charles give the Indiana Fever rookie and the others the recognition they deserve.

Charles’ comments have merits as well. The WNBA has seen a massive increase in ticket sales and viewership because of the new players, and they are now riding the wave.

Now, hopes are high that it can continue with Clark, Reese and the new generation leading the way.
