Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has lived under the lights in her first few weeks in the WNBA. With the stardom surrounding Clark, the Fever have picked up the most brutal schedule in the league, playing seven games in less than two weeks.

The Fever are 1-7 on the season, recently suffering an 88-82 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. Clark had the best game of her young career on Tuesday against the Sparks, posting 30 points, six assists, and five rebounds.

While it’s clear that she’s finding a way to get into her offensive rhythm, her demeanor has been the biggest issue. Clark has looked tired and stressed recently. In every interview and press conference fans seem to point out her exhaustion.

She’s been quoted saying that she talks to the media more than her family, and it may have come across as a joke to many, but she’s clearly overwhelmed.

There have been a couple of cases where Clark has had emotional interactions, like her first meeting with Kate Martin, and her postgame press conferences after tough losses. “Stressed” is a great way to explain what Clark is going through as the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

Clark’s pressure is catching up to her behavior and fans are concerned it can lead to a major issue. Despite all of this, she leads all rookies in scoring at 17.3 points per game, being one of the only two first-year players to average over 10 points per game.
