Angel Reese’s college career came to an end this week. First, it ended in the NCAA Tournament when she and the LSU Tigers got eliminated in the Elite 8 at the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes.

LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese then declared for the WNBA Draft on Wednesday less than 48 hours after being eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.

Many folks had things to state about it as some of the comments suggested she should stay in college one more year to reap the benefits of NIL deals and just overall better treatment in college than in the pros.

Taking to X on Thursday, Reese sent a message to everybody who is supporting her for her decision while stating she is ready to “learn and grow.”

“Whew i wasn’t able to even digest everything yesterday but i want to say thank EVERYONE for showing me sooooo much love! Making my announcement with VOGUE was ICONIC. In this new world that i’m stepping into, just believe in me, trust in me & give me time to learn and grow!” Reese wrote.

The 6-foot-3 Reese, who became a well-known name last year after she led LSU to an NCAA championship and was named MVP of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, ended her career by recording 17 points and 20 rebounds in LSU’s season-ending loss to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in their Elite Eight matchup Monday.

With just minutes to play in the game, Reese would foul out. Reese averaged a double-double in last year’s NCAA Women’s Tournament.

The LSU All-American forward is projected to go No. 7 to Minnesota, according to ESPN’s latest mock draft.

LSU Tigers star Angel Reese has declared for the 2024 WNBA draft and has a NIL value of $1.8 million (per On3.com) due to deals with Amazon, Airbnb, PlayStation, and more.

However, her WNBA contract is going to be substantially lower. If she is taken in the first four picks, she will make $76,535 in her rookie season, while picks 5-8 see the 2024 salary drop to $73,439.
